I have lamented before the lack of web coverage for young, and even established, jewelers. As I mentioned here easy to find information and images are really a must in today's market if you plan to make a living from your art. So I was more than pleased to find this 'unoffical' blog for ASU Metals department.
The blog includes posts on exhibitions, awards, events, guest workshops etc. It is a great tool for the students, but more than that, it includes links to the students, alumni and faculty's own blogs and sites as well as their Etsy stores. What a great way to get students thinking about marketing their work, understanding the technologies available to them and how to use them. They will be at such an advantage coming out of school already understanding these things, as opposed to those of us who were strictly taught to make and not how to sell. Way to go ASU Metals program!
Here are a few who caught my attention.
